S K E T C H Y   N O T I O N S  ® was established in 2011 and started out as a tiny blog. It was created by Chelsea Ward, a Southern California native and travel addict. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with a BFA in Studio Art, Chelsea and Sketchy flew off to Italy for 2 years to fill sketchbooks and create while abroad. In 2012, she returned to Calfornia and started turning her sketches and paintings into prints and cards. It has grown and taken over her small studio is located in the lovely Santa Ynez Valley.

Chelsea's love of watercolor and Italy has turned into co-hosting art retreats with Bellissima Art Retreats in Italy and Southern California. She also does custom chalk art and chalk signs for Chalk By Chels. And she is also the creator of the foul mouthed card line, Cursive Cursing.

She is also the author of the instructional drawing book "Modern Drawing," and the upcoming "Your Year in Art." Both books are published by Quarto and Walter Foster Publishing.

Chelsea also enjoys teaching art classes for Arts Outreach, a non-profit that provides art, music and theater classes to schools in the Santa Ynez Valley. She has been involved with Arts Outreach since 2012 and is thrilled to be able to give back through the Art For You = Art For Kids print fundraiser.

All Sketchy Notions products feature original designs and travel sketches created on location. Everything is designed and packaged in Chelsea's small studio, aka the 'art bubble.'
